Product Review: LAQA & Co. Cheeky Lip in Humble Brag

Good morning love buggies!

I hope everyone is having a beautiful morning, and has an amazing day today.  As I am up early for work today doing a double 640AM-810PM shoot me now please, thank you! I figured there is no better time to do a product review this morning!  The product I am going to be reviewing today is going to be one that I received in my Birchbox for August.  This month’s theme was Candidly Nicole by Nicole Richie on VH1, and it was a bunch of beauty products that she basically swears by that could be found in this box.

Today we are going to be reviewing!

LAQA & Co. Cheeky Lip in Humble Brag

Now if you buy this product on Birchbox website it actually comes in a set of three, and they call it the LAQA & Co. Charm School Kit which can be purchased for only $20 USD for the trio.  Birchbox only gives you one to product to sample, but it is one full size cheeky/lip product out of the trio.  Here is a description of the product from Birchbox’s website.

LAQA & Co. Charm School Kit: BIRCHBOX BREAKDOWN

With their substantial charms (read: easy application and gorgeous color), these multitasking crayons from LAQA & Co. have certainly won us over. Each creamy formula works as both cheek and lip color, and the sleek gold crayon makes it ultraeasy to dab on. This set includes crayons in three flattering hues: Cray-Cray (coral peach), Mixtape (ruby rouge), and Humble Brag (blush pink). Added bonus? It comes with a beautifully designed clutch painted by Australian New York-based artist Kate Shaw.

From the product description you can see this can be used for both lip, and cheek.  I just don’t know how I feel about that using it on my lips, then using it on my cheek its just not sanitary to me, and Ill probably only be using it on my lips.  In my honest opinion they should of made it open on two sides one to use for lip, and the other side to be used for your cheeks.

This is what the product looks like:

As you can see its kind of like a cool round crayon which makes your easy application to your lips, and to your cheeks with the retractable bottom to give you more or less product from the top.

This lip/cheek color in Humble Brag is super pigmented, and super pink. It is a very bright color from what you can see above from the swatch.  This color might be way too pink for my cheeks even though I do have a tan I think I’m a little to light for this color even if its blended really well.  What I really love about it is how smooth it is like a crayon! It basically just glides on to your skin, and does NOT give you a hard time 🙂

This is the swatch blended in on my hand, and even still it is SOOO pink.  If I was too use on this on my cheeks I might be looking like a clown in training, just saying LOL BUT! I did use this on my lips, and I LOVE it! Check it out below:

My iPhone takes the weirdest front photos! My lips looks so weird in this picture LOL

I didn’t put a whole lot on because I took this picture at like 6AM this morning, and didn’t want people to think I’m coming straight from a club to work LOL but it is definitely a build able color, and can get even brighter as you build!

Pros of this product:

  • Affordable ($20USD for 3!)
  • VERY pigmented
  • Easy application
  • Comes in 3 beautiful colors
  • Multipurpose

Cons of this product:

  • Too pink for my skintone
  • Not to sanitary

Overall I would definitely like to try the other colors like the coral peach color for my cheeks as it might work with my skin tone/complexion a little bit better then this one!  I would love to know if you guys received this product in your Birchbox this month, and what you think of it?!

Love Always,
