Good afternoon beauty bloggers!! 😊
I am back today with yet another product review, and one that I am super excited about! I couldn’t wait to share the amazingness of these two products that I recently won through a Dave Lackie Giveaway. For those who don’t know Dave he is a beauty editor for BeautyTheGuide.com, and he’s always giving away awesome beauty products. For those who don’t have him on Twitter yet you need to go follow him right now!! RIGHT HERE!
The two high end beauty products that I won from Dave are:
- YVES SAINT LAURENT-Healthy Glow Balm Powder in Epice.
A revolutionary balm-to-powder formula that delivers a natural-looking, sun-kissed glow.
What it does: Give your complexion a sunny glow. Healthy Glow Balm-Powder features a dual-ended applicator that allows for sheer application (using the brush) or a more extreme contoured look (using the sponge). The formula gives you a glow without looking muddy or overly shimmery. It minimizes the look of pores and imperfections, for skin that feels smoother and appears more radiant with a silky, matte finish.
This set contains:
– 0.31 oz Healthy Glow Balm Powder
– Dual-ended sponge/brush applicator
- YVES SAINT LAURENT- Full Metal Shadow in Pink Cascade
A liquid eye shadow for a vibrant, metallic finish.
What it does: Full Metal Shadow imparts sixteen-hour wear and liquid eye color that bursts with vibrant, metallic coverage. Each shade is inspired by the iconic fashions of Mr. Yves Saint Laurent. Without creasing, flaking, or fading, this pigment-packed liquid shadow is formulated with 40 percent water for a cooling effect and high color payoff.
The packaging is adorable I wouldn’t expect anything less from YSL. Cute gold boxes, and once your inside the Balm it’s wrapped in this beautiful black velvet pouch with YSL in the stitching. (I’m assuming so the outside doesn’t get scratched) the balm is one compartment and the brush/sponge applicator in another.
The shadow is in a cute little gold box too but nothing as fancy on the inside like the balm had all the extras. But the detail on this small little bottle is gorgeous. It has a gold cap with YSL written all over the bottle cap. ((Dont mind the appearance of the Balm I have been using this like crazy!)) How gorgeous is that eye shadow?! The color is Pink Cascade, and what I love most about it is that its such a subtle bold color, and has a 16 hour wear time!! Isn’t that amazing?! The first two times that I wore this eye shadow I did wear it alone because I wanted to get a feel for the color. The third time around I did wear it as a base for a purple eye I did, and it works just as good. I have been loving this Balm!! The color is Epice which is perfect for my skin because it’s not that light, and it’s not that dark, but perfect for bronzing/contouring. It’s very creamy, and it doesn’t have a powdery consistency like the packaging says. I definitely want to say it’s more of a cream bronzer then anything. I used it to Contour, but had no idea that the other side of the sponge applicator was for more coverage (As you can see the white part is clean as day LOL) . I’ve been using the brush side this whole time to just only contour my face, and it’s been working well and blends seamlessly.
I didn’t even take the plastic off the mirror yet I LOVE the YSL symbol way to much right now to take it off LOL
Getting good uses in as you can see!
I am just so in LOVE with this eye shadow color it is beautiful!
Closed compact with YSL on the top!
I thought the back was pretty interesting, and I needed to show this to everyone. YSL gives you two different opinions on how to use their balm.
Use it for a all over healthy looking glow & it gives you directions in English/French on how to do so using the sponge side.
Contouring to create definition on your face with the brush side.
From left to right: Epice, and Pink Cascade.
You can see the beautiful bronzed color, and the shimmery full metal pink cascade that I am in LOVE with if I didn’t mention that earlier above.
The applicator is super easy to use I just apply it right to my desired area on my eye lid, and blend it in seamlessly using my finger. Because its liquid first I find it so much easier to just use my finger then using a brush. This eye shadow is definitely build-able so you can apply as little to as much as your heart desires.
Pros of both products:
- High end makeup/beauty products
- Very pigmented
- Great to be used as a base shadow
- Great for contouring
- Great packaging
- Can fit in your purse
- The eye shadow clicks when you close it so it doesn’t open back up.
Cons of both products:
- VERY EXPENSIVE
- Not that affordable LOL
- & thats it!
The HERELes Sahariennes – Healthy Glow Balm-Powder retails for $55 USD and can be purchased
The HERE.Full Metal Shadow retails for $30 USD per shadow and can be purchased
I hope you all enjoyed this post, and once again a big thank you to Dave Lackie for these amazing products!
