Product Review: GLAMGLOW GRAVITYMUD.

Today is day two of product reviews which is super rare unless I really feel a type a way about a product I’ve been using.  Every time I review a product whether its a sponsored product or not I always give my true honest opinion about it.  I’m not going to gratify a product just because its been sent to me for free to review.  That’s not how I work.  But today’s product review is something I purchased myself with my own grown up money LOL.

Today I want to talk to you about the most hyped product around + its new to the beauty community.  That today my people is GlamGlow’s Gravity Mud Firming Treatment.  Keep reading to find out more about this product & if I loved or hated it!

Yes I’m already reading your minds!  “Felicia what in the world possessed you to spend $70 on a face mask?!  Are you mad?!”  Yes, yes I am!  I have no idea what made me spend that ridiculous amount of money on a silly face mask!! Especially when I have 9 million less expensive face masks right at home.  Was it the hype?! Was I in love with the fact that this mask goes on silver and makes you look so weird?!  Was it the good reviews it received?!  Was it just the materialistic maniac in me who was super excited I had a $70 face mask at hand?! Maybe, but  I have no idea what it was but I don’t think Ill be impulse buying like this anymore!! (Probably not!)

I applied it to my face with the brush they give you it made my face all silver, and cool looking.  The mask got harder, and harder.  I waited a little over 25 minutes before PEELING this mask right off my face.  Yes it peels how cool is that?!  I felt immediately that my skin was a lot firmer, and a lot drier.  Coincidence of feeling so tight?!  I think not.  I got a wet wash cloth washed the rest of this silver peeling mask that was left over, and put some moisturizer on.

I honest to god don’t know why this mask is so hyped up.  I cant wrap it around my head.  Even after using it I’m still so mind boggled on why everyone is raving about this mask.  Days after using it my skin started to feel different.  I started to break out, and got bumps all over my forehead.  I have dry patches on my cheeks that you wouldn’t even believe.  And my skin feels so rough like sand paper it is not even funny.  Guess what?!  I totally blame this GlamGlow Gravity Mud for messing up my skin!  So this morning before work I trekked it right back to Sephora and returned this horrid thing!  I was nervous because I threw out my receipt the week before, and didn’t have a E-receipt + this mask was $70 USD (OMG moment!!).  The lady at checkout was nice enough to do the return & put my $70 right back onto my card.

PROS:

  • Packaging is so adorable & I am in love with this purple canister.
  • LOVE that its white in the jar & silver on your face.
  • The smell is amazing it so tropical with hints of coconut.
  • LOVE that its a peeling mask.
  • Kind of made it feel firming.

CONS:

  • VERY EXPENSIVE
  • Kind of small in size for the price its only 1.7 OZ
  • Made my skin so dry after
  • Made my skin breakout.
  • Its a 25-30 min mask so make sure to keep yourself busy.

This product was such a disappointment its not even funny.  Especially since I used Glamglow products in the past, and I love the GlamGlow Hydrating Mud.  Sorry I didn’t take physical pictures of the packaging itself I totally forgot, and I was so mad I just wanted my money back already.

I give this 3 out of 10 stars on the review board.  People save your money!! If you really want to try it out go to your local Sephora and have them make a sample for you to see if your skin can handle this.  I should of done that to begin with silly me!

Have you used this product or sample of it before?!  What are your thoughts on it?  What was the outcome to your skin?  Let me know & comment down below!

Love Always,

  1. The silver is pretty cool but I have to admit, Glamglow is totally hyped up for nothing and the prices are outrageous. I’ve tried everything but this and the blue mask. The foam cleanser made my skin super dry!! The only one I would pay for is ThirstyMud because it really works to hydrate, especially in the harsh winter weather.

    1. Yes!! I couldn’t agree with you more! And thirsty mud is my favorite out of all of them. I like how you can buy the $20 jar of the hydrating one instead of the $70 one. The prices are nuts I just don’t understand.

  2. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw your pic was the Silver Surfer superhero (was in the fantastic 4 movie)! Lol kinda cool! But I agree with you, so much hype on these products but I don’t think they’re worth it. Not for me anyway. I did purchase (w/o sampling first!) their youthmud but it didn’t do anything special for me. It didn’t break me out or anything, I just didn’t care for it so the small jar I purchased for $22 is just sitting there looking pretty!

  3. That’s absolutely rubbish that such an expensive product had such negative effects on your skin. Kudos to Sephora for being so helpful and returning your money though!

  4. Wow $70 seems like an insane price tag for a face mask. Especially when you could get a facial at a spa for cheaper. Luckily Sephora is great about returning products for a full refund.
